Savannah Colon opened Williamsburg Hair in April 2023, at age 26, after eight years of building her craft and her clientele across three different shops.
The Story
Savannah grew up watching her mom, a hairdresser herself, transform people in the chair. As a kid, she practiced on Bratz dolls. The pull toward hair was always there.
She studied cosmetology at Smith Vocational and started working behind the chair at just 17. Over the next eight years, she built a loyal following across three different salons, learning something new at each stop and always dreaming about the day she’d have her own space.
That day came in April 2023. At 26, Savannah opened Williamsburg Hair at 45A Main Street. Her fiancé Jeffrey built out the space that January — a true family project. Within weeks, she had over 100 clients on her books.

Today, Savannah is a mother of three — Novaleigh, Oliver, and Lilah — and still the only stylist in the chair. She knows every client by name, remembers how they like their coffee, and treats everyone like family. That’s just how she is.
The Space
Walk through the door and the first thing you notice is the light. Natural sunlight fills the room through big windows. Plants line the sills. It smells like fresh coffee.
Help yourself to the snack bar — there’s always hot coffee, tea, seltzers, water, cookies, trail mix, and Kind bars. Kids get juice boxes, lollipops, and a prize when they’re done. There’s a play area and a TV to keep them entertained.
Jeffrey built the space from scratch in January 2023, and it shows. Every detail is intentional. It’s warm, it’s personal, and it feels nothing like a corporate salon chain.
